All Northern Territory children are born ready to learn, and continue to learn in nurturing and stimulating environments, and successfully transition to school.
Establish new programs using the Abecedarian
Approach Australia to deliver quality early learning and parent capacity building, linking with primary health and other support services
Drive quality in all preschools and other early childhood education and care services
Expand a range of language, conversational reading and pre-numeracy programs for children and families throughout a range of services
Promote family involvement and child attendance in quality early learning programs, with an emphasis on school readiness, literacy and numeracy
Progressive improvements in the quality of all regulated and unregulated early learning services, with all regulated services meeting or exceeding the National Quality Standard
Increased attendance and participation of 0-3 in quality early learning programs, including preschool
Greater family involvement in community programs, such as Families as First Teachers and children’s play, sporting and cultural activities
All Territory children will participate in quality early childhood education programs with an overall target of at least 600 hours of participation for all 3 and 4 year olds
All children will successfully transition to school
